Warning: Sprite Blood is a continuation of Roan and Ari’s story that began in Strange Introductions. This piece could be read as a standalone, mostly, with only a few references making little sense if you haven’t read the first one.

Author’s Note:

In which Ari shows himself to be a little insane.

I wanted to write this from Ari’s point of view so badly, but that would ruin the story since he knows more than Roan and then nothing would be a surprise. So I didn’t get to play in Ari’s crazy, emotional mind and instead had to mollify myself by just making him weird as fuck. Roan is far more aloof in contrast, isn’t a people person, yet wants to see Ari happy.

I can’t even begin to explain how frustrating some of the conversation is to write because every time Ari lies, Roan can tell, so I have to balance omission and assumption constantly. And then add to that, Roan can’t lie. Because reasons.

The next story of theirs is called To See, but I’m sure you saw that one coming.
