She sank into the waves, becoming nothing but a shadow, then Landon felt himself be yanked under the water. He had a moment of absolute terror, his mind shouting for Jak as bubbles slipped from his mouth in a silent shout.

Then her hands climbed his body until her face pressed against his. A kiss, of sorts, but there was nothing sensual about it, nothing stimulating for either of them despite her beauty.

Her mouth opened against his. Her voice rang with power, the best of it flowing over him, around him, within him. He could practically taste summer. Could sense the billions of creatures swimming around him. Could feel the currents as far as the closest trench. Could see the beauty among even the murkiest waves.

As Niani pulled away, strands of her hair floated between them. She stroked his cheek before letting go. Then she dove, her tail flicking through his heightened vision as she danced within the dark waters.

Lungs close to bursting from who knew how long they’d been under, Landon kicked to the surface. He managed a quick breath before a wave smacked him in the side of the head. He spat out the seawater and tread water until Niani resurfaced in front of him. Just her head, strips of seaweed decorating her forehead and a minnow wiggling free from her hair.

“What was that?” he asked.

“Just a few bars of a song of beauty,” she said. She twisted in the water so that she lay partway on her back, her nipples visible from just under the surface and her tail shimmering within the water. A slight smile curled the corner of her mouth. “It strips away the murkiest of life.”

Indeed. Landon could feel his cock stir in an echo of desire as he stared at her body. She was gorgeous. In a salty, oceanic way. Her scales shiny and smooth. Her breasts round and bare. He could easily imagine sinking into her. Though…
